Comfy Concerts - a new and intimate way to enjoy music in Wellington while contributing to worthy causes

This concert series takes place in The Long Hall, a beautiful wooden RSA hall that was saved from demolition and lovingly restored. It is the home of an historic set of gamelan instruments brought to Wellington from Cirebon, Indonesia in 1974, and since March 2025 has been the unique setting of 8 benefit concerts featuring music from Bach to Ross Harris, from solo string players to quintets and gamelan ensemble. We have given musical pleasure and fostered a real sense of community with hundreds of audience members, and with the generosity of musicians and audiences raised thousands of dollars for charities Arohanui Strings+ and Kaibosh Food Rescue.
